Fixed Vs. Growth Mindset in Singing

❌  A fixed mindset person believes that basic abilities, intelligence, and talents are fixed traits and can not be changed.

✅  A growth mindset person understands that talents and abilities can be developed through practice time, good teaching, and persistence.

📖  Reading Carol Dweck’s Mindset: The New Psychology of Success was a huge eye-opener for me as both a teacher and performer. Our brains are capable of growing, but only if we allow ourselves to learn and become comfortable making mistakes.

How does this tie into our singing our performance journey?

✨  Simply put, people with a fixed mindset are less likely to flourish than those with a growth mindset.

If you’re asking yourself, “Do I have what it takes?” the answer is YES! Yes, you do.

🌈  Be ok with the learning process.

🌈  Give yourself permission to make mistakes without harmful self-talk.

👊🏻 I believe in you.
